about KURT

If you saw Kurt Jacobsen riding around town in his pick-up truck and cowboy hat, you might not peg him as an award winning chef. When he trades his Stetson in for a baseball cap he’s riding the line at his recently opened restaurant, Kurt’s Main Street Café, in West Sedona.

Much of Kurt’s inspiration comes from his global travels, including acting as chef at the world-renowned El Tovar on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and his farming experience in Costa Rica. Some of Kurts favorite dishes – like his Southwest rice with cumin and cilantro, the black beans christening the Pork Tostada, or the fresh masa featured in the Green Corn Tamale – reflect his eclectic taste in food and passion for fresh ingredients, which is represented in the menu that changes seasonally.
